Description
Our Rock Out crag days help you to experience the exhilarating challenge of rock climbing in the heart of beautiful Northumberland.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced indoor climber who’d like to make the transition to real rock, our Rock Out crag days will give you the opportunity to put yourself to the test.
Rock Out days are held across Northumberland at some of the county’s most picturesque locations. You could find yourself climbing on the fringe of captivating woodland or on rugged Northumbrian moorland. Under the guidance of a qualified instructor, you’ll learn how to correctly fit a harness and helmet, how to tie in to the rope, how to communicate as a climber, how to use guidebooks to read your route and the basics of movement on rock.
All necessary equipment will be supplied. There are no hidden charges.
Places are limited to six per date and the cost is low, so spaces are expected to fill up quickly.

Absolutely brilliant day out with Chris, Ben B. and Joe. Even the weather was fabulous despite an ‘iffy’ forecast. We have all been climbing under Chris’s expert instruction for a few months at Newburn Leisure Centre and it was really good to get on some real rock. We managed to climb 7 routes during the day, with the most amazing views from the top of the crag. Nice balance of climbing, basking in the unexpected warm sunshine and tucking into lovely picnic food too! Thank you Chris for giving us some great climbs and keeping us safe. Thanks to Ben for the picnic! Great therapy…thanks guys!

Chris is a talented professional climber who aims to share his passion for climbing with the community. Thanks for all your efforts creating these Rock Out Crag Days I thoroughly enjoyed myself. After climbing both Bowden Doors and Kyloe crag my favourite climb was “Christmas Tree Arete” on Kyloe
Eagerly waiting for the next chapter after the October break!
