Experience the exhilarating challenge of rock climbing in the heart of beautiful Northumberland.
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or an experienced indoor climber who’d like to make the transition to real rock, our upcoming Rock Out crag days will give you the opportunity to put yourself to the test.
If you've never climbed before, during the day you’ll learn how to correctly fit a harness and helmet, how to tie in to the rope, how to communicate as a climber, how to use a belay plate to safeguard your fellow climbers, how to use guidebooks to read your route and the basics of movement on rock. If you have climbed before, and these are familiar skills, then you can concentrate on the rock.
Places are limited to six per date at a cost or £25 each, so spaces are expected to fill up quickly.
Directions to the location will be provided along with guidance on suitable clothing, food and hydration. The use of harnesses and helmets is included, regrettably the use of climbing shoes is not. Under 18s are welcome, but must be accompanied by a participating parent or a legally recognised guardian.
Travel to and from the location is not included; participants must make their own arrangements.
